"Andrew Schwartz and his team at the University of Pittsburgh, which reports on the monkey experiment in the journal Nature Thursday, say the experiments are paving the way toward prosthetic devices that "could ultimately achieve arm and hand function at a near-natural level." Observers agree the work is promising, but caution it will take years to perfect the technology that uses electrodes implanted in the brain to control robotic devices."
This is an online journal named after a novel by Will Self. The novel is kind of disgusting, and relates to commerce and individual development in a horrifying way. I think it's a really impressive book and all, but mostly I just like the name.
This journal is only marginally about Fun; it is mostly a place for -essays about human development, psychological health, and relationships; -essays about consumer culture; -reviews of certain emotionally-relevant consumer products like songs, films and television shows, novels, clothing, sporting teams and athletes, vehicles, and Other; -poems and prose that you might want to skip; -occasional interviews; -eventually, discussion.
I'll try to avoid political rants, and other topics that are important to me but that tend to move my foot into my mouth.
I will try to keep puns and the phrase "hot chicks" to a minimum, but can't make any promises.
